Dnes byl čas nahrát do D890UV nový dodaný firmware 1.01I a CPS. APRS je funkční, stejně jak to známe z D878UV. Hodnocení GPS chipsetu, který je u D890UV použit, jen velice subjektivně. Přijde mi, že výrobce použil stejný GPS chipset jako u řady D878UV. Po továrním resetu je studený start GPS do 4 minut. Při vypnutí a zapnutí radiostanice je start GPS do jedné minuty. Subjektivní je to hodnocení proto, že test probíhal v prvním patře na okně za balkónem kdy nebyl přímý výhled na oblohu. NIcméně se mi to jeví velice podobné už používané D878UVII+.
Příjemná je automatická regulace hlasitosti přijímaných stanic na DMR. Už žádné přeřvané protistanice, jejichž operátoři neumí nastavic Mic Gain. Úrovně hlasitosti jsou příjemně normalizované, velice příjemná změna, na kterou jsem byl zvyklý u Motoroly a její funkce RX Audio Leveling. Tady jednoznačně palec nahoru. Příjem je celkově „uhlazenější“ a příjemnější než z většiny čínských DMR radiostanic.
Příjem leteckého pásma v AM také překvapil. Reprodukovaná modulace je krásně srozumitelná.

Today was the time to upload the new firmware 1.01I and CPS to the D890UV. APRS is functional, just like we know from the D878UV. The evaluation of the GPS chipset used in the D890UV is quite subjective. It seems to me that the manufacturer used the same GPS chipset as in the D878UV series. After a factory reset, the cold GPS start takes up to 4 minutes. When turning the radio station off and on, the GPS start takes less than one minute. This evaluation is subjective because the test was conducted on the first floor, at a window behind the balcony, where there was no direct view of the sky. Nevertheless, it appears very similar to the already used D878UV II+.
The automatic volume control of incoming DMR stations is pleasant. No more loudly competing stations whose operators don’t know how to adjust Mic Gain. The volume levels are nicely normalized—a very pleasant change that I was used to with Motorola and its RX Audio Leveling feature. Here, it’s clearly a thumbs up. The reception is overall „smoother“ and more pleasant than that of most Chinese DMR radios.
The reception of the aviation band in AM was also surprising. The reproduced modulation is beautifully understandable.
